My Academic Life
I started my studies with Classical philology, and wrote my first book on Second Sophistic (Der philostrateische Apollonios, 1991), and went then on to New Testament (Apollonios von Tyana in der neutestamentlichen Exegese, 1994). I then moved to Early Judaism (Old Testament Miracle workers, 2005), and could not resist temptation to try to combine Early Judaism with Patristic (Exposure of Children among Jews and Christians, 2010). My recent book again deals with early Judaism (Greek Writers and Philosophers in Philo and Josephus; 2019).
I am Adjunct Professor at Åbo Akademi University, University of Helsinki and University of East Finland I am happy to be a member of international Network for the Study of the Reception History of the Bible and member of the editorial board of Studies in the Reception History of the Bible.
